Still normal. I take it you consider yourself to be socially awkward, and that's okay, and since you're not confident with yourself or how you interact with other people, making eye contact comes as a thrill because it's a connection with someone else that you'd rarely make otherwise. You enjoy it for the connection, yet fear it for how vulnerable you feel, as it could be an opportunity to be judged.

Now, I'm no psychologist, nor do I have years under my belt, but don't freak out about that, since I think it's just a part of figuring out yourself and other people. Making eye contact is generally a good thing, so don't be afraid of it.
