I trade my wife watching stuff like that in exchange for her watching things like Day of the Triffids and Blazing Saddles. I can live through Twilight (with a certain amount of snark) in exchange for that.

Y'all married guys should just wait until the Fifty Shades of Grey movie comes out.

(The best response to a Fifty Shades showing, of course, is to be cruel and turn the movie off.)

Ditto. Actually, I was already at the computer (which was near the TV). Tried watching bits and pieces, chose to just make smartass critiques instead. Don't think that was appreciated. However, not a single fuck was given.
I "HURR DURR"ed all the way through that lame-ass "fight" scene in whichever sequel it was in. Essentially, it was the same fight as Gandalf/Saruman (I throw you! No, I throw you!), but with pasty preteens and wangst.

My girlfriend's favorite movies are the first couple of Pirates of the Carribean movies (for over the top theatrics). The rest of her movie collection is stuff like Lord of the Rings, the newest Batman movies, the Avengers and Iron Man/Thor/etc. We just recently had a discussion about how she didn't like Peter Jackson's take on LoTR, because she despises Liv Tyler, and they left out a bunch of cool characters. Seriously considering introducing her to like...Blade Runner or something. I'm starting to believe that this girl doesn't exist, despite sleeping at her apartment half the time. [/bragging]

My brother told me to watch George Takei reading fifty shades of gray.

It's supposed to be quite amusing.
The only part of that particular dramatic reading that was any good was George's famous "Oh, my..."

Also, one of us should rainbow it up and write "50 Shades of Camp Gay". Even though it's probably already been done.
