Just got a call from my insurance company, asking me why I gave them a 1 out of 10 on that poll they wanted me to fill in.

I wonder if they seriously think I appreciate having a stranger randomly calling me.
Ask them why their company is so emotionally needy that they would respond to a poll response that drastically.

Wow, it really shows how far we've come since then. We know now that gay rapists can be women too.

This is the same era that told kids that in the event of a nuclear attack, the best course of action is to duck under your desk and cover your head.

Because, of course, telling them that "In the event of a nuclear attack, everything and everyone you know and love will be reduced to radioactive ash...You have no chance to survive make your time." just didn't have that American can-do spirit!  ???

To be fair, at a certain distance from the bomb that would be a good idea. Too close and you're dead no matter what, too far and it's just a minor earthquake type thing.

I think the lack of information was probably more to do with a lack of information about what the hell nuclear bombs were capable of or their after effects. It's not a minor earthquake either, since you know, nuclear bomb. Don't travel downwind if you survive the blast, or you're looking at nuclear Pompey.

You know, the force of a nuclear bomb doesn't envelop, as much as it is a shockwave. I watched a documentary onthe hiroshima blasts, and there was this guy who had been a kid, playing soccer, and a ball went into a semi-deep ditch. He jumped down to get it, and there was "a great hot, blinding light, and a flash of hot air." When he climbed out the city was gone.

I mean, he WAS some distance away, but still.

The hot air was the pressure wave :>

While the reversal of entropy is technically possible (see Maxwell's Demon)
No. No it is not. Closer investigation of "Maxwell's Demon" has shown that in order to carry out the sorting operation or similar, net entropy must still increase.
