Which is precisely what I'm wondering about. And is it really regional? Because I think it's a widespread, if not necessarily well known, term amongst German speaking people.

In conclusion, Vikings are clearly superior to Other Societies, due to the lack of awesome and practicality present in the latter.

Ah shit. This is one of those things you HAVE to do.

Vikings are still alive, it's just that because each married viking has a family of kittens following them around, the local land they reside on exists in a pocket of warped time that moves substantially slower than all the area around it. Everyone that wanders into it gets trapped in a preserved, miniature 11th century Scandinavia, so noone can definitively even tell that they're there for want of witnesses.

Okay, I can accept that. Does Erikson radiation happen to induce beard-growing and alcohol drinking, by any chance? Then it might happen to be dwarves, not Vikings. The only difference, AFAIK, is that one lives in a hole in the ground and the other lives on a longboat.
