I use Zipeg. It's completely free and it handles pretty much any type of compression that you want to throw at it.

Only use winrar and 7z to extract junk, I've never really compressed anything.

I tried to at one point, and found I counldn't get into it.  Not because its bad or my imagination is faulty, but because its usually in fiction novels, and I don't read too many of those.  Even 'classical' pieces soetime fail me.
