Dog Water:o
No, it's not a dwarven drink(animal), it's like Vitamin Water for dogs.
I wonder if it comes in "Tastes like shit, literally!" flavor, 'cause dogs love that stuff...

Certainly you could argue that DF is a lot like The Sims, only... you know... with more vomit and decapitation.
If you launch a wooden mine cart towards the ocean at a sufficient speed, you can have your entire dwarf sail away in an ark.

More people have this. Perhaps "name starts with an M and circular black+white avatar" is enough.

Speaking of Apple, has anyone heard about that whole 'rectangle with rounded corners' thing? That really made go 'WTF?'. Or more accurately, 'Dafuq?'.

The lawsuit wasn't really about rounded corners, that's a joke.

The actual issues in the Samsung case involved several  patents covering the overall design and “trade dress” of the iPhone and iPad and three Apple “utility” patents that cover specific software behaviors. One covers the bounceback behavior of screen objects when you try to scroll beyond the edge of the display. A second concerns how the device differentiates between a one-finger scroll gesture and a two-finger move gesture. The third covers tap-to-zoom, which expands objects in the display centered on the point of the tap.

Samsung made a post-trial statement that said: ““It is unfortunate that patent law can be manipulated to give one company a monopoly over rectangles with rounded corners, or technology that is being improved every day by Samsung and other companies.”
This claim was a gross exaggeration that was swallowed whole by many writers, thus perpetuating the 'rounded corners' myth.

although there was something to due with rounded corners in the lawsuit, but it wasn't just about rounded corners, one of the patents they said they stole, was USD593087, abbreviated D'087

http://www.google.com/patents/USD593087

as you can see, it lists quite a bit more than rounded corners,
and of the devices they claimed violated the patent, only 2 of them were found to actually have infringed upon it.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

although this blown out of proportion statement about the lawsuit ONLY being about rounded corners, started by Samsung themselves hurts Apples reputation, even though it isn't true.

So I took a shot at The Video Game Name Generator.

one of the results I got was Final Fantasy Equestrian Syndrome.

Personally, it sounds like a Pony fanfic of the Final Fantasy games.

Is it wrong that my history professor advises us students to take painkillers instead of weed? :P

That depends. There are pros and cons to each.

Painkillers of the opioid variety are highly addictive, dangerous, and very powerful in general.

Weed is illegal.

That's the cons. I'm too lazy to do pros. :P

Also that recent New Zeelandian study that came to the conclusion that using weed (or at least starting young) pretty much drains your IQ, and it doesn't return afterwards either. Or something like that, I didn't read it myself, and I'm never sure what people actually refer to by "IQ" since it's so overused these days.

Just... what.
Some of the other contextless bits from the ticker mentioned he had some sort of meltdown.

Also, one of the girls who works the cash register got into a car accident. Around an hour or so after when she was supposed to show up, everyone one was wondering where she was, and I suddenly thought to myself "I hope she wasn't in a car accident". A few minutes later, we got a call. Most likely broke her arm.
Unfortunately, this means the only person to talk to now is the stock manager, and this overglorified stockboy is a total douchebag.

Got so boring I read one of the textbooks for the culinary courses. Now I know how to prepare a squid for cooking, scale, gut, fin, and decapitate a fish(called dressing it), then fillet it, and am now deathly afraid of a neurotoxic anaerobic bacteria that thrives in canned goods. Good reading.

I think you should hope that the stock manager doesnt get in a car accident.

EDIT:

My WTF:
My dad wants to buy a galaxy S III, even tough he still has a perfectly good S II.
I dont see why people always want the newest thing...

There's a catch tough. If he buys a S III, my mom gets his S II and i get my mom's S :P (i currently have an S mini. Yes, we rooted for android here.)

If it's the study I'm thinking of, it had negative effects on IQ when used during adolescence. People who started smoking during adulthood weren't affected at all.
