Hurricane Isaac is coming because we haven't been making human sacrifices to the Sun God!
Wait, the Sun God? I thought this was the season for the Storm God.

That depends entirely on what you're going for. If you strengthen the Sun God he could ostensibly power through the Storm God's attempts and reduce the severity of the storm. However if he isn't powerful enough to slow the wrath of the Storm God you're only endangering yourself by siding with his enemies. If you sacrifice to the Storm God you only make the storm more powerful, but it is more likely to miss you because you are a useful servant. It's really just gambling and picking the lesser of two evils, so I just stay home on sacrifice day.

Would asking the Snow God help stop the storm then, or would that just complicate things further?

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

No no, this is the Sun God's work. Quetzalcoatl is the god of corn as well right?

And guess what's happening in America?!

THIS IS SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE THAT QUETZALCOATL DEMANDS MORE VIRGINS

HurricanE Isaac is coming!  Blame the gays!   ::)
surprise sur-bloody-prise.

If this were true, then how come the gay micronation hasn't been wiped out yet?
And why is it that when God hurricanes cities because of the gays, he usually does it in hurricane-prone areas during hurricane season?
The intercelestial credit crunch is a terrible thing. Everyone has to cut corners.

I think its because of the republicans, as there is a republican event there, right?

Knowing Belgium, everyone will vote for themselves out of mistrust for anyone else, and some kind of weird direct democracy coalition will need to be formed from 11 million or so individuals.

Why is unseasonably cold right now? It should not be this chilly in August.

Haha, I figured that one out a few years ago. Yeah, quite the revelation. Cute and innocent child's joke becomes a lot less innocent.

For, in order that men should resist injustice, something more is necessary than that they should think injustice unpleasant. They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

Kelp SeaGulls eating whales alive
1st heard mention of thsi on news where apparently seagulla have learned to eat whals as they breach the surface. The argentinean police are apparently organising a cull of the birds as there are something like 150,000 of them. the news also had it that the gull behaviour is spreading as one bird teaches another how to get the easy food.
Someone needs to teach the whales how to knock down and eat the gulls. then we would have proper evolution in action.

Technically the seagulls eating the whales is also evolution in action.

Teaching the whales wouldnt be evolution in action, it would be mankind meddling again. Nature needs to work these things out on its own.

Haha, I figured that one out a few years ago. Yeah, quite the revelation. Cute and innocent child's joke becomes a lot less innocent.
While an interesting extrapolation, it holds no validity. The joke is far older than the use of "the other side" as a euphemism for death, which only gained real traction during the spiritualist movemnt of the 19th century (although translations of older works have been known to use it in place of a less familiar euphemism.)

The real purpose of the joke is as an "unjoke." In other words, getting a matter-of-fact answer instead of the expected clever punchline is the joke. It fails because it's so well-known that the purpose is impossible due to sheer familiarity.

It's because we're hogging all the heat up over here.

EDIT: Fixed due to Vorthon's location. ;)
