In Panama City it has been raining on and off since july? maybe june? Its nice to see a return to good old fashioned rainy seasons at this latitude. When I was living in mississippi, we used to have rainy seasons twice a year up until about 15 years ago and the big drought kicked off.

i spent $300 on books (one i believe is used but its a hardback) but fuck $95 for a paperback? Tell the school to kiss my ass and look for books on amazon.

This is a book vent, not a WTF, but in any case, I really wish someone would man up and put out a tome that was a nice decent synchronic and diachronic survey of Tocharian (A & B, and what little of C we have) that's in English, that I can put on my bookshelf, and that doesn't cost through the nose.

They'll make an ebook... eventually. Then you just have to put a kindle or something on the shelf.

Actually, I can see it now, and it's amusing. A huge library-esq bookshelf, dominating an entire wall... completely empty except one little tablet sitting in the middle of it. Possessing the entire library of congress and every published (and most unpublished) written work made in the last few centuries. In all available languages. Sitting there. Mocking bibliophiles.

Or... I'unno, do we need a new word for folks that love writing but not actual books? Do we have one already?

Some folks selling it for like $20. So I'd wager you could find somewhere fairly legit selling it for less than that ninety-something price.
