That, or the people that want the sugar free stuff think 'sugar free' means insta-healthy, which is very dumb of them. Eating an apple then not burning the calories off is still unhealthy. You have to be active AND eat healthy to get the benefits.

ONE artificial sugar has been found to cause tumors in lab rats. This is caused by a reaction between the artificial sugar substitute and a compound in rat urine that is not found in humans. Not a shred of evidence linking sugar substitutes to cancer has yet been found by any reputable study.

The only studies that support such links are pathetically small, use no control group, and were bankrolled either by All Natural Snake Oil salesmen or the sugar companies.

I doubt it. But there have been reports of young adults overdosing on caffiene after drinking 4-10 ish of them in a day. I cannot even describe how much damn caffiene is in an energy drink. Its comparable to cocaine cola at this point. People get high off them.

An energy drink (just picked a common brand; others seem to have similar values) has similar caffeine content to coffee. By volume. Typically, you drink a larger volume of energy drink, and brands vary about as widely as do coffee preparation methods. Plus, depending on how legit the other ingredients are, you might get a synergistic effect, but my understanding is that virtually all of those have no scientific basis for their inclusion.
