Apparently I look like a priest or something.

So I was walking around reading a book, and someone came up to me asking me what I was studying. Worker's comp law.... He thought it was a bible and wanted to have a discussion with me about God....
books=/=bibles.

was it old, musty, and leatherbound with small writing and ridiculously thin pages? if so, I can understand...
I have a copy of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy that looks like a Bible. I once considered dressing up as a priest on Halloween and carrying it around, quoting lines out of it :P

Maybe that particular person had simply never seen any other big book?

I mistake law books for Bibles all the time. It's not that difficult, to be honest.

It's a sign that Truean needs to start preaching about the evil of hatred and the virtue of justice.

My brother is baffled at the existence of female pimps. Sigh.
What a coincidence, I learned today that some of my older female relatives used to run a brothel...

First two are badass. Calling someone's bluff when they have a gun pointed at you? That's plain crazy. And it worked!

They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

Understand that the people doing the arresting are normal people too, so if idiocy were a crime, it'd be selectively enforced.

You know, children have died of heatstroke in hot cars like that one. Parents don't even have to get themselves locked out, they just go shopping for a few hours and forget that their children exist.

the seven most ridiculous cases of misplaced priorities.
 ???

this is just... the fuck?

This is especially hilarious to me, because I used to play Gunbound :P

You know, children have died of heatstroke in hot cars like that one. Parents don't even have to get themselves locked out, they just go shopping for a few hours and forget that their children exist.

Quite an understatement.  Dozens of children die every year from being left in the car on hot days.

Quick Fact Check:  The average is 38 per year.

I'm glad that woman was arrested.

Edit:  Congratulations.  Because of you, I followed the link to this article, which had me struggling not to break out loud into laughter at work over an educational video about predatory child molesters.
