The news article titled "Syrian Pilot Defects to Jordan with Plane"

Also happy, but more "WTF?"
They were just jelly of the Libyan pilot who defected to Malta.
I'll be interested to see if that's just the tip of the iceberg.

The Green Day Hoedown was pretty cringeworthy.

Try Lil Wayne, expressive pianist.

It's funny, because the MiG was probably purchased from Russia in Jordan.

In this week's installment of "Dorfy things in real life":

Dude catches giant fish by shooting it with a bow and arrow and playing tug-of-war with it for 45 minutes.

I fear I am going to lose spectacularly tomorrow. I cannot legally prove a defense I believe and my client will go to prison. The judge doesn't wanna hear it and he isn't happy at all with my objecting for the record (openly preserving grounds for appeal) no matter how politely I do it. Said judge, of course, knows exactly what it means when I do this, and judges despise being overruled. He will not so instruct the jury on the defense....

S.O.P. is not to inform the defendant of the situation's full severity to reduce the chance he might flee the jurisdiction.

I am afraid the best I can offer is that this was not for lack of trying and that my appellate brief is already drafted.... I somehow suspect this is of little comfort. I do not believe I shall be paid for the appeal; this should not be the case. Public defense is a terrible thing at times.

Lost.... Should I be surprised? Showed appellate brief to client in cell. Explained everything. He doesn't want me to file anything for appeal. Thanked me for all I dd; just asked me to get him the lightest sentence I could. I kept explaining why he should appeal; he stopped listening. He gave up; gave in.
Make sure he can contact you later on in case he changes his mind?

“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

No, socks.
Given the thickness of their scales, these would be referred to as "boots".
