one of my friends believed (note: past tense) that because he was an aetheist, I would like Richard Dawkins.

I promptly told him that I believe that he is a dick because he cannot respect anyone with a religion, and his belief finished.
still, he didn't seem like the kind of person that would assume that...

He wrote a book on it quite a while ago.  He's pretty much stopped having anything to do with religion now.  If he ever was a militant atheist he doesn't seem to be anymore (his most recent book is pretty much just science).

Books, maybe. He's still very much activist in article writing. A recent piece on Intelligent Design that he wrote included the gem (slightly paraphrased) "God is a more complicated idea than evolution, therefore Occam's Razor proves that God cannot exist.  He's not quite the jackass Seth McFarlane is, but that's no compliment.

You know what's a good way to get freaked out?

Hearing the dogs go ballistic about something(and not just the Rottweiler having one of this random barks for no reason) then seeing your parents go outside to see what's up with one them carrying a fucking revolver.

They figured it was coyotes, which as of the last year or so have apparently encroached on the farm here. Apparently I have full permission to go out and start firing off rounds if I notice any coyotes around. (Which I doubt since the only time I can effectively hear outside this house is in my room which I'm almost never in)
