I spent around two hours in a walk-in freezer yesterday, hammering the ice that had somehow formed across about half the floor starting from the entrance. It's one of those things that, when you find out about it, has to be fixed in the time scale of "right the fuck now" before somebody gets hurt(we apparently don't have liability coverage). I measured a piece I broke off at 1.1cm, and that wasn't the thickest point. And looking at some of the pieces, it appears that there was already a layer of ice that somehow got even more water on it, forming a second layer. I had to use a flathead screwdriver as a chisel to break those up. Had not eye or hand protection either, just a thin windbreaker jacket, and got plenty of ice shards hitting my hands and eyes.

I still got chills, or perhaps its really cold in my room for some reason.
