IIRC Thomas the Tank engine was not animated at all. They just switched the faces from smiling to frowning when they were not being focused upon.

I recall I found that show singularily dull.

Thomas the Tank Engine is all animated, though. We don't have talking makeup for trains.

Wasn't the original done with models, though, making it actually live action?  In the same way that Thunderbirds and parts of Ultraman/ Godzilla were.  I can see the connection.  It's special effects that don't actually involve digital manipulation, just making the viewer believe that what's being filmed is larger than it actually is.

So, you are either one or the other, male or female.

Oh my.

The rest of the book insists that anyone can be anything they may be, but the wording at the start got me a bit ruffled >_>

Aren't transexuals still very much "one or the other", though?  As in their preferred gender.  It's surely more excluding those with intersex conditions, which are actually more common than you might think.

It was Hergé, but the illustrations, now that I look at them, are definitely his. Must be an anglicized version of his name.
