Norwegian Wood is as you say. Lucy, OTOH... I wouldn't doubt for a second that a lot of The Beatles' stuff is drug-inspired.

It really depends on what you mean by drug-inspired. I'd be willing to bet John was on drugs when he wrote Lucy, but comparing the lyrics to the chapter Wool and Water from Looking Glass kinda clinches what it's about.

The only Beatles song I can think of that's clearly about drugs is Doctor Robert.

That's not true. Songs about violence are similarly common.

Now that would actually make for a bit of interesting research, trying to figure out which of the two is used more often. Of course, it you'd also need to define what is included in each category; is a song about beauty included as being related to sex? Is satire or hyperbole included? Should we just conclude that sex and violence are the two eternal constants of human existence, and that drug use is the third leg, always a few steps behind? :3

If you want to get technical about it, sex (of both the love and lust varieties) and violence are just physical methodologies for attaining certain biochemical states, which falls under drugs. Therefore, drugs are the most prominent things in human existence.

I suppose this really shouldn't be a WTF any more, but browsing 4chan has become like piloting a space ship with poor handling through a bullet hell game with the bullets being pornographic images on what's supposed to be a work safe board. It happens often enough to stop being a WTF moment, but still.

I predict two things:

Two, a good number of commentators will vote meh because "there's no mention of religion, therefore not fundie".

I think we both know that isn't what we are talking about when we say "drugs". We're talking about substances (natural or synthesized) which are used to artifically induce certain reactions in the brain for the purpose of creating a given feeling. Quite apart from that, I would like to believe that we are more than the summation of our total pleasure in life.
