Careful with that inclusive boya. I'm above the curve in tech savvy and I still spend at least a good half hour or so a week (often more) boggling at the sheer godlike power we now tote around with regularity.

Amazing is amazing regardless as to how common it is, at least if you have a degree of perspective.

The computer in my pocket would once have taken up a few football fields of floorspace and had such a thermal output that if the AC ever failed, you had 4 minutes to get out of the building before you die from cooking. Weaker computers once defined what it meant to be a superpower and unlocked the awesome nuclear power of the sun itself. I use mine to play angry birds.

I think there was a discussion on how portals worked, in that it expended energy to pass matter through, more energy for how large and how fast the object is, so that the law of conservation of energy didn't break in half.

I just found out that the computers that guided the Apollo missions was 2.048 Mhz. My phone is a dual-core 1Ghz. o_o
