Eh, IMO, if someone considers themselves a furry, they're a furry. If someone doesn't consider themselves a furry, they aren't one. It's like any other fandom.

On one hand it's really no different than liking Loony Tunes or Duck Tales or something.

On the other hand we've got people making their own ponies modeled after themselves.



The "you are if you say you are" thing sounds reasonable to me, though.
