Actually, there are very good reasons that FOSS is frowned upon in many professional circles.

First, much of it tends to be in some measure an amateur production. Besides the obvious quality concerns (at this level, there's not a great deal of time available for exhaustive testing,), they tend to be less well-documented and have a much smaller base of qualified personnel to call in for tech support.

Second, most such programs have quirks that make large-scale training more difficult. Sometimes it's an odd UI, perhaps fonts or colors don't match up quite correctly to normal, or it might save in a strange format.

Third, it's non-standard. You have a lot more qualified people with "Photoshop, MIcrosoft Office, Windows XP" listed in the skills section of their resumes than people with "GIMP, OpenOffice, Linux," The money spent on the software is more than made up for in easier hiring and reduced training costs.

Forth, there's generally too many forks of one project, and those forks tend to fade away. Microsoft will release an improved Office every few years. You have no guarantee that whatever fork of the project you pick isn't going to be abandoned right after you finally get it up and running.

That, and LibreOffice is better than OpenOffice now anyway.

Apple is overpriced and not as easy to have working software for. If you're that interested in not having people play games, then use one of the more professional Linux things like, or one with extended support. Or just finagle UAC into a semi-useful state.
 (My cisco instructor managed to have ubuntu 10 LTS dualbooted onto our lab, though him being the most knowledgeable of it in most of the school system might've had something to do with that...)

MY sister got up early this morning, and when I was making myself breakfast, she basically told me that she can see ghosts, and our house is full of cat ghosts.

 b) Gone completely batshit insane and has started hallucinating,

I can safely rule out c), but I can't figure which of the other two it is. I'm leaning towards b), though.
