It seems to me that a company COULD put people in their food (if they put little enough so that it would qualify as natural flavoring no one would know), as long as they don't kill anyone to do it and get permission from the person they make it out of before they died.

I predict a special gourmet company offering the deadliest prey to the discerning (and expensive) tastes of the classiest customers, followed in short order by the revelation that their 'volunteers' are actually executed Chinese political dissidents. Heck, if food companies started using people in place of pork, they'd get compliments about how tender and sweet their new supply is.
