The issue with that cookie is that you get them in Chinese restaurants, where being told to not panic is a sign that you may want to start panicking.

I got a fortune cookie a few days ago- actually, I found an abandoned fortune on the sidewalk- that said "Love in its essence is spiritual fire." The next day, with newfound confidence from the cookie, I stopped playing the Prufrock and asked out the girl I was going to ask out.

She turned me down.

Fuck you, fortune cookies.

More likely, she thought it was just a big kitty. The lion's behavior was not that different from that which many cats exhibit in play, and kids that young tend not to think about things like size difference, or how strong the animal is. That, incidentally, is a large part of why so many kids get bitten by dogs.
