For some odd reason, I got into a "largest living thing on earth" discussion. I had assumed it was the giant sequoia -- a tree that can reach 375 feet in height, and weigh some 3000 tons, or about 10 blue whales.

But no, that was trumped by a mushroom. Specifically, a fungal colony in Oregon some 2200 acres in area. 
And yes, DNA analysis confirmed that it's the same organism, not just a big patch of mushrooms. I know a single kudzu plant can grow several acres in size, but I had no idea there was something that grows that big.

Also, Dutchling, German words are actually fragments of other words, as Darvi joked about. That's why its such a god damn pain in the ass to learn German.

Yes, but it also consists of three workd afaik.
And Ehdras, Dutch is the same (Glove? You mean handshoe..) .Learning German isn't that hard as I'm Dutch and half the word are almost the same. It's just too bad that the other half seem to be the same as a Dutch word but mean something completely different.
This is just the words ofc. I haven't even tried to learn the grammar even though this is my 5th year learning it.
