Funny story. A friend of mine at university, as an experiment, successfully passed 60 study points in psychology by signing up for all courses with multiple choice exams and showing up with only a pen and a 12-sided dice. He got a B average grade as well...

Back in high school, the school competed every year in a very high-end math competition. One year, the team that was sent was composed of students who hadn't yet taken that sort of math yet, because we only had six seniors that year.

The team placed third by programming a random answer generator on their caculators during the competition and just uded whatever it gave them.

Have you seen the show or just played with the toys?

Most fans are pretty disappointed with the toys, as they're pretty much the epitome of "pink sparkly crap." Everyone shakes their head at Applejack's pink apple shaped truck, for example.

Never seen the new show.

As for "mental growth", well, here's the famous CS Lewis quote:
If anyone is lacking maturity, it would be the ones rejecting it due to being "kiddie stuff."

Now hold on, I'm not dismissing "kiddie stuff". I still read fairy tales and children's books and comics for my own pleasure. I'm dismissing crap, and I can't expect a 3 year old to see crap for the crap that it is, but someone who is a lot older, I can. It's the adolescent idolisation of camp I'm not comfortable with. However, since I have never seen the show, I'm not really qualified to comment on it, so I won't, beyond what I already just did
