I do this a lot. It tends to make people annoyed in my experience, although that's probably because I don't put much effort into the "feign agreement" bit so they just think I'm making fun of them.

What's adorable is this one pimple of a hill in Iowa the locals insist counts as a mountain and put a ski resort on. It's like a 300 foot elevation difference or something, and not even a 45 degree slope. It's like 30. The one in my backyard has it beat for crying out loud.

Notably, that is literally the steepest residential street in the world and it's 19 degrees. It actually takes a lot less to make a steep slope than you'd think.
