Your target is ordering what it thinks will sell. Its likely one person who is determining what to buy. If they think it won't sell, they wont buy it.

For some reason the gross lodger we have prefers to sleep on the loungeroom couch than in his room.
It's pretty disgraceful, and then he leaves his stuff lying all over the room as well. At first he would just occasionally pass out on the couch/armchair with a videogame controller still in hand, but now he's made a habit of sleeping there by choice. It basically puts the main room of the house out of action until he wakes up, and anyone passing through is treated to the sight of this slob sprawled on the couch.
I don't even feel safe to sit on that poor old couch any more... at this rate it'll need to be either bleached or burnt.

Looks like it falls to me to tell him to get his shit together.

I have two acquaintances with the same first name. I have separate dealings with both most easily done through a certain social medium. They both use said medium under only their first names. It'd be pretty embarrassing to go and ask which one is which. What do?

Diferentiate them through pictures? Unless the social medium you use somehow doesn't support that. Sometimes social mediums allow you to view your commucation log with a person or another, or to add "nicknames" to people ala Steam, so that can be a way to differentiate between people with the same name.

Additionaly, isn't it possible to view their last names?

If none of these things are possible, then thats a very strange social medium you people use, unless its IRC or something. :v
