Yeah, that's complicated, and "no single-syllable words" is sorta weird and hilarious like DF gets, but... this seems sorta self-contradictory? This is a single couplet, total 16 syllables, that has to tell a story where the first half's main idea is undermined yet expanded upon by the second half. In four words at most (since the language it's written in is strictly polysyllabic, given that all words have exactly six letters; a few words have three syllables, such as "season", "feferi", and yet fewer have four syllables, all of which assume that there are no dipthongs: examples in clude "flute", avaija, which I pronounce "a-va-ee-ja", "ghost", "aradia", which I guess would be pronounced "a-ra-dee-a" here, "hawk", aladia, a-la-di-a, flood, idiasa, dwell, upadia etc.)

The romance system was awful though.

Mostly because the game doesn't inform you that it even exists until the last moment.

You'll just round a corner and see the baddies like "Mwahahaha, we have your true love!", and it's the fuckin' blacksmith, just 'cuz you shopped there often enough for him to be the one you interacted with the most.

It's made worse because there are pre-determined love interests, and yet they are incredibly easy to miss because there are no indicators that there's a romance system in the first place, and a few of them are real easy to miss. Though the only difference between the 'real' love interests and some random chicken-fucker you said "hi" to in town that one time is that the 'real' interests get a minor line of dialogue in the end scene.

Yeah, mine was some random bad guy I'd saved from death for whatever reason.
Just awful, really. I almost picked the bad ending just because I didn't want him.
It was a mistake I fixed in NG+

I'm surprised Joe didn't acknowledge the AWFUL "romance" system. You can romance literally any NPC in the game (save for the bad guys). That sounds awesome, right? Well it's fuckin' NOT!
I accidentally ended up with an eight year old in my first playthrough because I didn't know that you could romance just about any character, and I didn't know their affection was based on how many gifts you'd given them. I gave like four hundred flowers to this little kid and ended up receiving a VERY awkward scene at the end between my character and this little boy.

...I mean, they're much more ok with that kind of thing in Japanese media.  Given what Dragon's Dogma is like I'm not sure if that's a programming oversight or an intentional feature; its possible that not many of their playtesters made it to the end of the game given the midgame slump.  Very vaguely related.

I'm tempted to launch into a rant about how my first semester, I had an 8am MWF fencing class. Nothing like being stabbed at with a long pointy bit of metal when you're still half-asleep.

But jeez, even in my slackiest semesters, I never got to sleep in later than 10 or 11 on MWF.

Actually, my kids enjoy it in much the same way they enjoy Octodad. Just the sheer visual slapstick.

Octodad was pretty fun co-op, and Surgeon Simulator (and Goat Simulator) were funny to watch as LPs.
I'd rather play Euro Truck simulator though, personally.  Or if I want a game based on wonky physics, Viscera Cleanup Detail.  Goat and Surgeon Sim both went too far for me.
