Getting a bit annoying at my mother complaining about me cracking my joints, claiming it's going to cause arthritis. The thing is, I seem to have this issue with just about every joint in my body, including my jaw and some of my vertebrae it seems. Every so often, the joint starts to feel like it's locking up, and doing what she thinks is cracking the joint is what unsticks the joint. If I don't pop them, I can't use them. This has been happening for years, with no ill effects, no pain, not getting noticeably worse. No doctor has shown concern.
I was going to comment on my own cracking (I used to crack my fingers at the knuckle and first joint, by pulling individual... I think)
But I got kinda distracted googling the topic. Apparently there's some debate over what actually causes the noise! Maybe synovial fluid, maybe not.
Then I happened across a very informative video where a young woman demonstrates cracking various joints. The sound is a *lot* louder than I expected, makes me wonder if I was doing it wrong.
What a strange topic!
I've gotten her a book on arthritis treatments for Christmas.
The gift of knowledge, perfect.
Okay. So, "pay me in sex" == fine and dandy, "i'll pay you in sex" == prostitution and terrible? Weird.
Not quite. "I'll pay you who are asking for money in sex" == prostitution and illegal. Presumably if the driving instructor was asking for renumeration in kumquats, it would be legal to attempt to renegotiate to screwing. Kinda' seems like the law there is pretty specific it's gotta' be money instead of something else to count as prostitution.
...Curious distinction.
I *finally* looked up why prostitution is illegal but acting in porn isn't, in the USA, and apparently it's mostly due to the First Amendment. Seems... off. Have they never heard of performance art? IDK, I think the law is backward in these areas, but at least it's trying to protect people from the dangers of prostitution. Though I bet legalizing would be safer for everyone involved, nowadays.
