Oh. Oh. Conspiracy? You poor, innocent babe.

It's way more batshit than that.
Yeah, I saw that stuff too. I just thought I'd give the majority of people the benefit of the doubt and not bring the alternate universe theories into it... :P

You have a RGB keyboard... and leave it off?
I'll take that off your hands for the price of an office keyboard from PCWorld or Tesco or something.
it's built into the laptop, so that will be difficult

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Meanwhile I can't even turn the bloody things ON.

Look at the manual?
What is this thing called 'manual'?

The only manual you can get any more is Manuel down at the auto shop who'll bullshit you about what's wrong with your car.

Be thankful they're red instead of blue.

For what? Night vision? The bright computer screen ruins that unless you have a special filter or something.

No, being able to get to sleep. You can run fl.ux to change the color temperature of the display in Windows but it won't change LEDs, obviously.

Also, I just noticed f.lux apparently doesn't quite work right when you're running with the region set to japan, at least on vista. It works, but it doesn't show up in the taskbar corner whatsit and it doesn't seem like you can pull up its finagling box via other means. Odd.

Locale Emulator?

Also,
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/netherlands/12059110/Driving-instructors-may-offer-lessons-in-return-for-sex-Netherlands-government-confirms.html

Quote
The government in the Netherlands has clarified that it is legal for driving instructors to offer lessons in return for sex, as long as the students are over the age of 18.
However, it is illegal to offer sex in return for lessons.

Transport minister Melanie Schultz van Haegen and Justice minister Ard van der Steur addressed the issue in response to a question tabled in parliament by Gert-Jan Segers of the socially conservative Christian Union party, noting that, although 'undesirable', offering driving lessons with sex as payment is not illegal.

In a letter to parliament the ministers said: "It's not about offering sexual activities for remuneration, but offering a driving lesson. It is important that the initiative lies with the driving instructor, and focuses on offering a driving lesson, with the payment provided in sexual acts. When a sexual act offered in lieu of financial payment, that is prostitution."

I was too lazy to figure out if there was an alternative to applocale and try it. It's pretty painless to just change the system's region, so I did, and I haven't had much reason to change it back, yet. Everything still mostly works and is readable, and the game I've been playing is still being played, so... yeah.

E: Also, interesting reasoning. Wouldn't work in the US, I do believe -- even non-monetary transactions are more or less considered monetary ones so far as the legal/tax framework goes. You're actually supposed to report income if a friend or whatev' hops over and fixes your car or somethin', not that anyone does it.
