Roughly. Each top-level portion (called a Class A block, or now they're calling them /8 blocks for some reason) has a specific assignment. A number of major tech corporations (like Xerox, IBM, HP, Apple, etc.) have their own blocks. The Pentagon holds well over a dozen Class A's. But for the more "public use" blocks up in the 200's, there's not necessarily a geographic correlation because they're subdivided up among various ISPs, resold, etc.

Oh, and 127 is one you'd never see in the real-world, as it's reserved for loopback (such as 127.0.0.1)

They're calling them /8 blocks now because the Classful system does not scale well enough to hold up the system. Classless CIDR blocks are more important with the dwindling address space we have in IPv4 (and its easier to split them up anyway via VLSM, you can't exaclty give out half a Class A without splitting it into multiple Class B's first). I don't think they even have a classful system for ipv6.

I have a mystery, something tampered with my food, and I don't know what or how.

Ok, so I have this one dish that i like to make, I make a pan of gravy, and then stick in some plain chicken breasts and let them boil in the gravy for a bit until they're soft, tender, and cooked all the way through. I then stick the gravy and chicken into toasted cheese sandwiches and enjoy.

Somewhere along the lines though, something went... wrong with this batch. Just plain wrong. You see, I take one bite and I'm nearly thrown out of my chair by how amazingly fucking spicy they are! SO FUCKING SPICY! It's like there's some invisible jalapeno sauce that's smothering my chicken.

The weird part, the gravy itself is fine. It's normal gravy. And the chicken breasts are fine, I've eaten some already from the same bag and they're just regular chicken breasts. The bread and cheese are A-OK, and I did not leave my sandwiches unattended for even a second for someone to sabotage them.

I still ate them, of course, cause a little spice never hurt anything and it's a shame to let good food go to waste, but now I'm starting to regret that decision with how unsettling this whole situation is. How the fuck did this happen?!

I saw a man on a horse today, riding down the highway. Here's the weird part: he was wearing chain armor, a tunic, and a helmet. There's no ren-fairs in the area, so it was a complete mystery to me.

Turns out it's some dude from Quebec riding across the country.
