Scientists discover carnivorous algae in Danish waters

Quote
If we imagine an African savannah, this would roughly correspond to the grass suddenly jumping up, attacking and starting to eat the gazelle.

The way they treat their animals and environment, I'm not surprised. On the other hand, M Night Shyamalan was right! This is the biggest plot twist of them all!

That was fantastic. Youtube has justified horrible games like this, because one person can play them and make them actually entertaining.

This motion picture hath caused the forumgoer Angel of Death to experience a state of confusion that has been described with the words of 'what the fuck?'.

This stream of images arranged in a sequential fashion regarding a famous fictional user of high powered firearms, constructed for the sole purpose of causing the ceasing of all vital functions of the living creature impacted by its metallic projectile, which is ejected at a highly elevated speed from the extremity of its narrow tubular frame, causing it to cover great distances without swaying from the original point at which it was originally directed, is one certainly worth of a man’s feelings of amusement and excitement, and conceivably one capable of invoking one’s bewilderment.

Just discovered that Boondock Saints has a 17% on Rotten Tomatoes (but a 93% viewer rating).  ???

Am I just that Philistine that I enjoy the hell out of this movie? Probably one of Willem Dafoe's best performances, IMHO.

No, it just means that your opinions don't weight the same thing professional film critics do.

I have no clue how that movie just got a 17%, and I think the 93% viewer rating indicates someone may be trolling the aggregator... Maybe look and see what the actual reviews say that contributed to such a low score?

It also has only a 44/100 on Metacritic.

I agree that it was a great movie, one of my favorites. My assumption would be that the directors didn't line the right pockets/didn't have the budget to do so.

I find that professional movie critics don't know how to watch a movie and eat popcorn instead of analyzing the movie to death. It's like they have a hard time enjoying themselves...and isn't that what movies are for?

Holy crap, why did I not start watching One Punch Man earlier? This is the best thing.

That could be part of it. I try to watch some of the highly-rated 'artsy' stuff that floats to the top of Metacritic and RT sometimes, and about 95% of the time it bores me to death or is just stupid. I guess I'm just a plebe.  :'(

Whereas the most entertaning films are the ones often with simplistic plots and fuckin huge robots destroying planets. For no reason.

I find niche movies tend to get the most accurate reviews, because they end up getting reviewed by people who appreciate what they are trying to offer.

Anything that goes "mainstream", aggregate reviews aren't that useful.
