The r9k board on 4chan is in a frenzy over this school shooting. Someone on 4chins spread news that this guy known as "eggman" was the shooter and gave his name as "Toby Reynolds" and now news and social media are all believing unconfirmed hearsay from an anonymous imageboard and hating on a guy who didn't do anything simply because he looks like "someone who'd shoot up schools".

The internet is possibly the most useful invention for preserving and sharing information that humanity has ever made and yet it's still so disgustingly piss-easy for misinformation to not only be spread but be accepted as true simply because everyone else is saying it is.

This also highlights how the news media is a very poor means of getting information

"Same difference" is dumb, but to have cake implies eating it. You can't eat a cake twice, which is why people can't have their cake (i.e. eat it) and then proceed to eat it too.

Oh, okay, that makes more sense, I took 'have' as you now own the/a cake, not that you ate it.

I always thought of it as "Have a piece of cake, and also have eaten said cake, while still owning said cake afterward in one whole piece."

That works too. Also involves fewer people complaining about semantics.

I believe a concept of "casual" CS:GO game just goes over the head of russian CS players. All these people care about is their kill/death ratio, apparently. Haven't yet encountered a person playing CS who wouldn't be that way around here.
