In all fairness I'm fairly sure we could've warned you of the occupational hazards of hooking up with a Norse goddess, Neo :P
You know. This would make a good plot. A person who isn't that interested in a literal god(dess) who fell for them ends up being the cause for the apocalypse. It's like those animes with the creepy villains crushing on the protagonist taken to the extreme.
This sounds so familiar, but I can't think where from. Damn.
There is an light novel/anime series involving Nyarlathotep, but Xantalos would probably appreciate if I didn't remind them about it.

... hilariously enough, that's actually, uh. Pretty close to the plot of danmachi, i.e. "Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?"

Funny story about Freya. To acquire her famed Brisingr necklace, she had to screw the four dwarves who made it.

Uh, there's probably a lot of stories where the protagonist get in trouble for rejecting a supernatural being. I was just specifying said supernatural being being divinity, really.

One of the oldest being the Sumerian epic of Gilgamesh. Yes, that guy.

A more modern one might be F.E.A.R. 2.

I found this far funnier than I should have.  :P

Freya, a warrior-goddess? There's nothing warrior-esque about her. She isn't even one of the aesir.

You just reminded me that I haven't even started on my fanfiction.

I wanted to translate it into Aramaic, but I think it's too late for that now.

THIS is what happened to my avatar today.

I can't read what its supposed to say.
It reads "This Sig Rotator is currently experiencing technical difficulties."
It's no longer experiencing those.

That looks like some sort of obscure Discrete Mathematics diagram. Am I close, or is it just some occult ritual recipe you dug up somewhere?

I mean there is the part where she gets half of the dead who died in battle...

You misspelled seance.  Are possessing Draignean?  Are you actually a ghost in the shell? You have to tell us if you are, that's the rule

... except that she's explicitly related to both war and death. Among the love and beauty and fertility and whatnot, there was a definite side of asskicking.

Not being of the aesir is kinda' irrelevant, since the vanir were still gods, heh. Hell, the only reason they were subordinate the aesir is cause the vanir lost a freaking war against the aesir. Freya may have been a fertility goddess, but she was also a warrior goddess, complete with starting unending wars, threats of death by fire, and other stuff aside. She was actually depicted as pretty violent, at times!

It's supposedly a "part of the large cardinal consistency-strength hierarchy". I'm not nearly knowledgeable enough to say if it's related to DM or not.

I decided to watch an episode of Ancient Aliens for laughs. The guys who write this crap have clearly never heard the phrase "Occam's Razor" in their lives. It's hilarious how they make these wild guesses with no evidence to back them up, and in most cases with evidence against them.

On the plus side, their obsession with religious artifacts and ancient cultures has given me some brilliant writing/tabletop gaming material.

Anthropology, mostly regarding language and architecture, is such an interesting field to me. A shame Egypt was first inhabited by the ancestors of these guys.
