Anyone ever sometimes think that the term E-Sports game is code for Boring?

I once commented that League of Legends biggest weakness is that it is a MOBA and only a MOBA while never really trying to perfect or improve the formula or offer something like a new map.

And their exact words was "Well it is a E-Sports game, it needs to be balanced"

In otherwords they couldn't really do anything with the game because for it to be a E-Sports game it needs to be super uniform.

I don't think LoL's boring, but that's just my opinion. You're right that Riot never tries to do anything new with it, but they also don't need to. Plenty of people enjoy it as-is. And right now the game is an abundant cash cow. Dicking around with that is unnecessary. Esports is merely an excuse.

Do fighting game tourneys count as E-Sports? Watching streams of smash bros or skullgirls tourneys can be anything but boring.

Yes.

And to be fair, Riot appears to actually be doing something of late. Whether it's a good something remains to be seen.

I do agree though that watching other people play CounterStrike is boring as all hell.

My wtf: I now suspect someone of stealing and not crediting an idea (which I stole but ~credited) from my ISG for the basis for an RTD. I suspect that I am getting a leetle bit paranoid.

Paranoia about the one thing I didn't expect to get paraniod about.
I think I know which RTD you are talking about and, reading the OP of both threads I can say that no, there is no stealing involved. Now excuse me while I steal the titles from both.

Another member left my D&D group.

DM had a bit of a burnout with the campaign we were doing, and lost interest, so the game was postponed for a few weeks while he figured out what else to do. One member didn't like this, and left for the foreseeable future.

Kind of a strange thing to be angry about. This shit happens. The DM had run this specific adventure path enough times that he doesn't have much interest in it anymore. The new one is one that no-one in the group has played or read about before. Except me, I know a little bit about it. I find it gets nonsensically hilarious a few books in.

I agree, it was ridiculous of me, I read the OP, and it wasn't really in the title anyway. Of course, my willingness to admit this in a rational and sane manner gives my suspiscions of those other theiving GMs further grounds in reality :P

Today's wtf:

My brother just came into my room and asked if I wanted pancakes.

It's 20 past 11 PM.

To make this more interesting, we don't have any pancake batter, so we're making pancakes from scratch, which we've never done before.

I'll let you know if they're any good.

... good luck. Do look up a recipe or something online, maybe.

As to NJW, and on the subject of idea theft, do remember that people can come up with their own ideas, too, and are largely drawing from either the same or similar bodies of inspiration. Even if the exact same concept shows up, that doesn't mean they were inspired by you. And even if they were, that's not really a bad thing. You stole ideas from people as well, from the things you read before, the cultures you've been involved in, and so on.

And that's okay. Particularly when there's no money involved, we should be encouraging as much and as vigorous concept appropriation, use, reuse, adaptation, and so on, as possible. The free/near free trade of ideas is one of the largest contributors to the many great works of media (among other things) that's been made in the past and are continuing to be made in the present.

They were pretty nice. Not quite as nice as pancakes made with batter mix, but they were good.

They were twice as thick as regular pancakes and had a different texture. Probably because we didn't have the recommended type of flour in the house.

They were twice as filling as well.

Try adding more milk next time. Or just generally experiment a bit - pancakes are perfect for that.
