Am I the only person who actually finds cards against humanity kinda boring?  After the first game or two anyway.

It probably loses its novelty after a while.

That being said, I watched Geek and Sundry's Tabletop episode with Cards against Humanity on youtube without any previous CaH experience once. It was possibly one of the most hilarious things I've ever watched.

It lost its novelty very, very quickly for me... it probably doesn't help that almost everyone I've been pressured into playing it with just awards the wins to whoever happens to have the dirtiest cards in their hands at the time.

Do you play it in such a way that you can see and/or hear the other players' reactions, particularly laughter? The point of the game is that politically incorrect jokes, black humor, lewdness, and other such things are suddenly okay to laugh at. In my opinion, nothing being taboo relaxes social pressure quite nicely, but it's obviously not everyone's cup of tea.

Oh, and it's not supposed to be played to win.

I am starting to wonder if people know the difference between having a sophisticated pallet... and being picky.

Every time I think of this subject I keep thinking back to that Simpsons episode where Homer becomes a Food Critic.

Sure, he writes positive reviews about everything. But he instills a great love for food into his readers. Yet is reviled by his peers and boss.

Then I remember food shows and how I just can't stand to watch them anymore because they are just nothing but competitions where they forget what the REAL star is... The food.

Probably because 40k has some pretty cool stuff. I probably know more about the lore and stories than my friends who actually play the game do just from reading the various wikis and sites that cover it.

You think that's confusing, I've been spending the last several days reading up on everything about the Skaven (ratmen basically in warhammer fantasy).
EVERYTHING.
It was not pleasant.

unlockable songs is already completely stupid in rhythm games anyway, forcing people to go all the way through the fucking career to unlock a single song even with the cheat is the single stupidest game design decision i've ever heard
