According to some guy (the same kind-of-liberatarian-but-maybe-not), anti-authoritarianism is good, but if you apply the same skepticism of interest to corporations you are an "angsty leftist". Apparently the only way governments can become a problem as long as they're called governments.
That's the thing, libertarians tend to not actually dislike things that the government does (because hey, it turns out that modern plumbing, electricity, internet service for le reddit, consumer electronics for bitcoin mining, paved roads, bridges, law enforcement and fire services, &c. are pretty nice) but like to be socio-economically edgy, and for some reason seem to think that profit-driven machines are a) going to do a better job of it than a construction which is at least theoretically supposed to be working expressly for the benefit of the people, and b) is going to prioritize giving all 'le future is here libtards' people good service instead of... y'know, fucking everyone as fast and hard as possible to increase profits.

It's not like we haven't already tried the experiment and saw how it turned out. But I guess once the late 1800s/early 1900s began to pass out of living memory the slate was magically wiped clean in the U.S.

No, you see, Dice, the 19th Century just wasn't free enough. Nevermind that society got worse the "freer" it got and then improved again after we started de-liberalizing shit again. Correlation does not equal causation!

Ever since getting home yesterday, I've been having sudden, violent, yet brief mood swings.

Time on the library computer ran out without warning
Err, no? When did I say that it was? It's an appointment for an attorney.

Okay, explain to me why - or at least how - I would be waiting for three different buses from a single location? The library isn't the only place I can find low-security internet.

EDIT: And as I posted this, three nerds in a car drove up to me, saying they had a bet going on about what I was doing on this netbook.

No, I don't think I will, considering I was only posting that to explain why people may have thought you were still in said library. You don't need to jump down peoples throats for a misunderstanding, Akura.

I found a doujin of a cat girl being sexually assaulted by a tuna. Ok, I had too much internet for the day.

Have you seen that one with two salmons in a home teacher/student relationship? Pure gold.

No, no. He has every right to castration-by-avian, as a consenting adult.

I wasn't imagining anything, I was quoting a specific image that you reminded me of. Not the same thing obviously, but the tuna theme prevails.

Are we talking Dream of the Fisherman's Wife or what here?

Apparently I can sing now. Huh, weird. Not sure when that happened.

I take less issue with "skepticism and anti-authoritarianism is good, but only towards the government" than I do with "freedom is good, but only for corporations". If they took economic anarchism to it's logical conclusion and allowed for looting and copyright violation and squatters living in warehouses and office buildings I'd be more inclined to accept it, but as it is it is wildly biased and hypocritical.

One of the possible answers to the question of why touch screens should be used in electronic voting booths is, according to the memo, that it "bridges the digital divide". That seems to me to be about as meaningful as writing that it would pacify the quantum metastasis, but I'll assume that the guy with a doctorate in this stuff knows what he's talking about.

The digital divide between modern technology and its possibilities, and the archaic process of voting and having to manually count all the votes?
