No... Windows 10 is... Windows 8.1 with a subpar start menu.

It doesn't even have a method to play DVDs in it by default.

"but our marketing research shows that the majority of the user base just jumps straight onto social networking!!  We made it EVEN EASIER to do that by integrating facebook everywhere, and allowing the social media streams to get right to you without even opening anything! Isn't that GREAT!!!"

No. Give the option for those that cant help their social media addiction, but leave the facebook I.V. turned off by default, m'kay?

i'm not a social media junky, I just want to use my computer in peace, is that too much to ask?

apparently so.

No wierd if we allowed it to be turned off and people turned it off it would mean we failed!

We are going by the Skype method of "We are going to piss off everyone"

Because yeah... social media junkies sure would love having social media thrust into their face all the dang time...

I mean I like videogames... why not just make the opening screen a videogame? Isn't that an improvement? Start up Dungeon keeper 2 right when I turn on my computer.

When my last comp bit it I had no choice but to buy a windows 8. Nothing older in the three stores I went to.

IIRC, the reason they jumped to 10 was due to concerns that shitty website codes would see 9 and expect a 95 or 98, then break when it was just 9.

Might just be a reddit conspiracy theory though.

Its still in business for some strange reason...

@Windows 8/8.1
It can be adapted to.  I'm kinda the IT person working with a buncha old people.  Its mostly just showing people how to get to the desktop when they boot up the computer.  The funny thing is most of them are probably too afraid to screw things up using the fancy new tablet view, so they only go straight to the desktop mode, where everything familiar and essential is set-up.
(No, we do not have any of those touch screen monitors for it, ain't paying extra for useless fancy things that can break.)

That's a bit harsh, isn't it?
For Zuckerberg? No, not really.

Eesh, the thought of a touch screen monitor being used by the relatively untrained sends shivers down my pocketbook. Even if it's not my pocketbook that would paying for it. Sympathetic fiscal shivers. I've seen what people who don't really know what they're doing do to non-touchscreen monitors -- my spine crawls every time I see one jab a LCD screen like they tend to -- and the thought of the force they'd probably put behind one that actually responds to that is just chilling. So much damage ;_;

Talked to the financial aid office today. They decided not to mention when I talked to them last week, and specifically asked about whether or not I was receiving the financial aid for summer, that I have to fill out a special application form for financial aid during the summer. Oh, and I don't have the required number of credit-hours anyway to get loans, so even if I did get a grant I'd be broke before tuition is paid for.
It took all my will not to bite that guy's smirking face off.
There is no excuse to just neglect to mention something directly related to the question you're asked. This is directly related. When I ask whether or not you've got all the bullshit in, and you don't, then FUCKING TELL ME WHAT IT IS YOU WANT. because if you wait until next week to bring it up, I WILL SHOVE THAT PAPERWORK UP YOUR ASS AND LAUGH AS YOU DIE OF A MILLION INTERNAL PAPERCUTS

Sky Sharks
I clicked on this expecting something with flying sharks.

I was not disappointed.

I was, however, unprepared for flying sharks being ridden by Nazi zombies.
