...a place rife with the morphine that is overly tight rules...

And that's just as bad as dropping things down the memory hole
Nononono, you're entirely free to discuss the topic - it's just rather unpleasant to do so. It's the democratic way of silencing people: Instead of denying them their right to express themselves, we rob them of their will to do so.

okay remember earlier when I complained about the word "cringe" and meant that you probably mean "sneer"

that's because this sentence basically describes what most people mean by cringe these days:

Oh my god I would have ripped that slim jim out of his hands and slapped his fat fucking face for doing that shit.

yeah it's usually saying "i hate this person" while using a word that has a sympathetic connotation to pretend that you're not an asshole

saying again the fix identifies the actual issue you're having >_>

Personally, I've never actually seen someone use the term like that... basically anywhere. Not in real life, not the other places I lurk around online, never in multiplayer chat (though it's been a while since I've been particularly active on that front). Toxicity you're seeing around that word really seems to be more a reddit thing than anything...

Got on the train, carriage is fairly empty. I am quite pleased by this and head towards a seat.

Suddenly, not one, not two, but three noisy small children are loaded on around me.
Me = NNOOOOOOOOOO

So I fled to the next, more crowded carriage and wound up in a less ideal seat that I may-or-may not have to surrender to a 'special needs' passenger at some point. Or worse yet, some slob might sit next to me. It's unlikely, people tend to avoid such a fate, but on a crowded train you never know. I'll have to remove my sunnies so that my ghoulish pallor can frighten people away.

Subway seating always makes me think of Hund's Rule of Maximum Multiplicity

EDIT:
So do urinals

I use cringe for when something is so awkward/shameful/dumb that it almost causes me physical pain or makes me recoil.
For example, my old posts.
Yup.

Last time I brought it up was when someone here used it in that way, and the only time I actually hear the word IRL is referring to that meaning.

col·lo·qui·al
kəˈlōkwēəl
adjective
(of language) used in ordinary or familiar conversation; not formal or literary.

It isn't supposed to meant what they think it means, but that's what it's used for often, and I was complaining about the context (talking about a popular youtube video) and people disagreed that "sneer" was the word meant when "cringe" was used.

Why do DF conflict rumors have almost no keywords? Just "conflict" and "fight", none for participants at all. Slap keywords for participants in there and maybe "death" if someone died and the rumor system would be nice.

Don't try to reason with Putnam when it comes to language.

Only madness lies that way. :P
