You put Comet in it, didn't you.

If I recall my field chemistry... Comet steals sodium ions like a hoarder, which is why it turns bleach into a rather vicious chlorine gas relative. Salt is just a direct mixture of sodium and chlorine, so a bit of warm water, a few random intermediate reactants, and I can totally see salt and Comet reacting into an interesting precip and chlorine gas.

I suspect that instead of chlorine, he has produced chloramine, which is EVEN WORSE, and what you get when ammonia (or at least, nitrogenous compounds related to ammonia) reacts with chlorine.

Since we have yeast (and yeast biproducts) along with gawd only knows what in there, adding the salt might (MIGHT!) be having a reaction where the sodium is cabbaged up by a covalent bond (instead of an ionic bond), leaving free chlorine in solution which then reacts with the ammonia.  OR-- it MIGHT be that the chlorine is being cabbaged up, chloramine gas, leaving the sodium to react with water to form sodium oxide/hydroxide.

Either way, you are playing with chemicals without understanding what they do.  That's not safe.

Also, this is a thing. Goddamn, don't make your own cleaning solutions, not unless most of the compounds are basically inert.

Well, are you producing Cl-1 ions, or are you producing Cl2 molecules?

Okay, now chlorine is being produced when salt is added. What have I done?

You sure it's chlorine?
It smells faintly of swimming pool water, so I assume it's chlorine.

Nope, no ammonia or anything containg nitrogen there.

Okay, okay. Real talk?

Is this a very long very drawn out suicide attempt or something? Why are you practically mixing chemicals in front of your nose!

This is madness! Poi!

... Yeast contains nitrogen. LOTS OF NITROGEN.

Yeast produces, among other things, urea, which decomposes into ammonia. Even just the yeast's little yeast bodies contain significant amounts of polyamides in the cell wall, which also denaturate into amino acids, and then into urea and ammonia.

Yeast contain nitrogen, it's one of the fundamental elements used in proteins.

Really I'm surprised you haven't just diluted this heavily with water and poured it out somewhere.

Welp. Yyyeah, I'll throw it out soon.

STOP SMELLING IT
You don't sniff the stuff, you use a hand to waft a little bit of it towards you. That's if you NEED to smell it and you're sure you're not producing something like hydrogen sulphide.
That's what I do. (Wow, I actually learned something from my chemistry class.)

I'm not sure throwing it out is a good idea. Maybe handing it to some guys in biohazard suits.

It was made from household chemicals, which are generally quite dilute. Diluting it a bit more and pouring it onto a patch of dirt should be perfectly safe provided no one eats the dirt.

cleric snip
Maybe they should just front-load all the cleric spells into the Gods themselves, so instead of looking at the Cleric to find out which spells you get, you look instead at the god you worship to see what he/she/they/it bestows on you at what levels. Follow a god of trickery? Obscuring spells, mind control spells, illusion spells, etc. God of death, necromancy and playing with vitality. God of fire, goddess of the sea, concept of justice, Lord of the Night, etc, all would be specialized.

Of course, it'd be a bitch to balance and require a lot more work, but it'd be more fun to play as a cleric.

No no! It will become so diluted it will be homeopathic at that point! It's only becoming more powerful! Think of the children!
