I absolutely detest the smell of any aerosol deodorant, but roll and stick deo is fine.

General consensus: Petrichor is nice, pinesap is nice, woodsmoke is nice.
Nice, sometimes nice, not nice at all.

There is nothing as delicious-smelling as burning apple wood. Probably not a great cologne since anybody who smells it will immediately want to eat you, but hey.

I was getting ready to do a cursory anti-malware scan, but I find that malwarebytes got itself uninstalled at some point. That indicates pretty strongly that running a more complete scan is a good idea.

Er, are you suggesting it got uninstalled by the malware?

I certainly didn't uninstall it, but I take it you think I'm an idiot for even suggesting it. Well sure. I don't know shit about computer security. I don't have any anti-virus, so I just run malwarebytes every time something overtly unwanted happens. This time it was the Ask toolbar (again) and some other adware that came packaged along with GIMP. It was strange that malwarebytes was suddenly gone, and that I had to reinstall it, so I remarked on it.

Huh, no, I'm not thinking you're an idiot. I'm wondering just what the hell is going on, since I've never heard of malware doing that, though it certainly seems possible I guess.

Most anti-virus really doesn't like getting shut off in a non-standard way, I know one that I had wouldn't even let task manager kill the process without the user confirming twice.

Sorry. I've taken all my exams (except one, but it's an introductory history course and I'm not worried about it), but I haven't got any scores back and I have a lot riding on them. I guess it's got me more on edge than I thought.

This isn't a very good system. It would be far more efficient to stop the malware from getting to work in the first place via an antivir. There are plenty of free antivirs available on the Net, and there really is no reason not to have one, beyond the tiny amount of CPU they take and few false alarms they give.
