Technically, nothing's been stolen yet. We left the stuff there, and what we did take, we took without incident. Aside from the dogs.

But we went to the house and took the dogs without him knowing, which we shouldn't have really done in the first place. Even though he likely wouldn't have let us take the dogs if we told him in advance.

Because paperwork hasn't been settled yet, and ownership of one of the dogs is still kind-of up in the air. He bought it, but he hates it. He just wants to keep it from my mom out of spite.

Though because we haven't settled anything yet, my mom still does own that house.

I don't think landlords can walk in on their renters whenever they feel like, assuming you have a rent agreement with him, but you could simply send him an eviction notice if he refuses to return your property, or if he's not legally renting the property call the cops and tell them he's a squatter and you want him gone.

I'm approaching the first time I'll ever have been awake for 24 hours straight. There's something nasty about knowing you went an entire night without sleeping, but there's something that feels so right when you've born witness to an entire rotation of this wet rock.

I have just gone toe-to-toe with the aftereffects of this, and let me tell you, it isn't pretty. I took an hour-and-a-half nap and when I woke up I had a bit of trouble forming coherent sentences.

Hmm. I'm not entirely sure if it's feasible, but would it not be possible to get an officer to "escort" you while getting your stuff? I seem to recall that being a thing that happens in places.
