Someone shouted out "You stupid fucking n*gger! You were almost an oil stain!".

It's really common at my local college, too.  The buses constantly had to stop for people walking obliviously down the middle of the road.
It only gets worse when they're walking with a friend or two.  Several times I found myself walking into the grass or street to make way for pairs of people taking up the whole dang sidewalk, seemingly ignorant of everyone else.

I tried holding my ground a couple times and nothing really happened, but I'd rather get out of the way than bump shoulders with a stranger.

That is not a Poe. Or if it is, it's equally insane, just in a different way - this is one of the instantly recognizable names like DJS or Vox Day or caamib by sheer frequency of posts, and it's still going on. You have to be truly a insanely dedicated troll to keep at it for several years.
