At first, the insignias and problems to look out for seems mind-boggling and 'hard'--this is the usual and generally applicable notion which follows anything 'hard' in the context of memory (ie Schooling and Academics); something 'hard' (or non-casual), after having some backknowledge to it, as well as seeing familiar cues and knowing the exact results is a note to mental configuration that after a while of continuous and constant exposure (or at least, focused association), the notion of 'hardness' or difficulty pretty much melts into something very surmountable.

Hence why it is a Casual game. Seems hard at first, but very relaxing. You learn by error just as much as you learn by correctness. :3

To me, casual describes mechanics, not difficulty. Papers, Please has super simple mechanics and can be played in short sprints. Hell, Candy Crush is stupid hard at later levels, but is the definition of a casual game.

I would never describe Super Meat Boy as casual, but it fits under this definition. Also most bullet hell games.

Subjective labels suck anyway.
