Best option would be to find a friend who's in a similar situation as him and get them to vet your writing? :V

Like, don't go up to a black friend and say "Yo, you're black, does this feel like a black life to you?" Make sure they actually, you know, experience the kind of life you're trying to write about. They don't even have to BE black, but it'd help make it authentic rather than having to adjust whatever aspects they have that are similar to mesh with your story.

Why does nobody seem to be capable of controlling their emotions when talking about (admittedly somewhat personal) issues and inevitably devolve into nigh-hysteria?
Why do people start yelling and swearing at a computer, banging the mouse and slamming the sound system? What about wanting to take attachments that have malfunctioned a single time and running them over with a car?

Seriously, WHY IS NOBODY CAPABLE OF REMAINING RATIONAL RATHER THAN GETTING OVERWHELMED BY THEIR EMOTIONS!? What the HELL!?

I have found that I have way more calm discussions when I use teamspeak. That said, I often feel I don't fully explore or detail the points involved for lack of research time and fear of offending people.

Also, text sometimes translates out differently than it was meant to be said. I often sound way way angrier than I am, I am pretty sure.

Yeah, text does often seem angrier/more sarcastic/more accusatory then talking face to face. I THINK there's a law about it? Not Poe's law, but something like that.

Heh. My CD player displays the number of tracks on a CD. Tool's album Undertow is supposed to have 10 tracks, but it displays "69" instead. I'm sure they intentionally did that somehow. Would be just like Tool to put some little inside joke like that.

No, I'm talking about in-person stuff. Just seeing people have no control over their emotions (or rather, the affects their emotions have on their actions) irritates me unbelievably. I just simply cannot understand how people are so... I don't even know the word for it!
