Well, I just played through 2033 redux on ranger hardcore, and decided to go on spartan mode with vanilla hardcore.

And wow, just starting off on the introduction shows how much stuff is made so much more idiot proof, giant hand icons against anything interactable, your watch being digital and showing exactly the amount of time you have with your filter instead of analouge and having no indication of which hand actually shows how much time you have left (though I was getting slightly close to figuring it out near the end of the game) ammo counters showing exactly how much ammunition you have left instead of you having to pull out your little lighter and compass thing then holding right click...

It's really quite a big shift from 'You want to know which button swaps throwables well F**K you' to 'I'm sorry for being mean, lemme just give you some ointment for that boo boo."
