Requesting entry as a reader observer under the name maskdwarf.

Backstory:
Nobody knew who he was under the mask.  Nobody knew what he was doing.  Nobody knew where he was from.  And that suited him just fine.  The less they knew, the better.  The true gods, the ones these people called "demons", they spoke to him in his dreams.  They told him he was their prophet, the one who would usher in a new age of prosperity for those in the world who believed.  He would rule.  He would, at last, be king.

They found out.  How? Why? They couldn't.  The gods had promised that they couldn't.  It wasn't possible.  There was talk of execution.  It didn't matter to him: he had failed.  They had told him that in his dreams.  He was no longer fit to be their prophet.  He would burn like the others when the true gods rose to power.  But no, they changed their minds.  Sending him off to some "rehabilitation colony" to "get back in touch with reality".  What little they knew.  He would prove himself, he promised himself.  He would prove he was fit to be the prophet.

Actually, I seem to have liitle problems with them, provided I prep first.  Even with a relatively unskilled adventurer I have killed the ambush.  I simply surround myself with fires for the duration of the night if I am not wishing to engage them or fire up the borders of a 4x4 square, leaving one spot 'unfired'.  I instead make a tunnel with it.  I sleep for as long as I can in the center of it.  When they ambush they are unable(typically) to get to me before I wake up.While they work their way to me I throw rocks or w.e. at them, and engage them 1on1 when they come.  If I start to get overwhelmed(because they love kicking, biting, I typically break any grasps by moving away, same with muptiple of them) I move away.  So long as my speed is above ~950 I can usually keep charging them, knocking them over, and out running most of them.

If I get really deperate I start to use trees for fire, first trying to knock them down into it and keeping them there.  The fires forces them to path around it, and provides time to regroup.  If you are too heavy to outrun them, drop some sh-stuff by a tree of landmark.  should still by closeby by dawn...

It's really a hyperbole, but the idea is a person who is just trying to be 2edgy4me like most young people who haven't learnt yet that it makes them look like assholes rather than cool. Or people who actually do think assholes are cool because all popular kids are assholes dintja know..

What Darvi said; the specifics of what is being said are irrelevant. Fedoracorp and SJWisms with untempered passions would probably have been how most Bay12 edginess would have manifested, people ruthlessly pursuing acceptance into their social circles with militiant enthusiasm.
