If you have enough dungeons, then you'd have more dragons than adventurers though, when they find out which dungeon has all the dragons in it doing a thing.

DEFINITE IDEAS
-players start at a festival
-something leads to lots of funky-ass time travel
-players find themselves: approximately 400 years ago, approximately 1300 years forward, approximately 13,000 years ago, approximately a bazillion years ago, and maybe at the END of TIME
-players all gestalt into Sorcerer or something at some point
-players have to kill a d20-system-modded-to-hell tarrasque or something at their leisure
and MOST IMPORTANTLY
-lots and lots of characterization in between beating monsters' faces in
-MAKE SURE to try to apply minor class-fixing

maybe steal pathfinder gunslinger class, depending on existence of pathfinder srd

but I will not force players to take certain classes, races, or die as a plot point, nor will I rip plot points off wholesale

... more seriously, Gonzalez the Warforged Lich (And don't even ask how that works) and his Carnival of Infinite Horrors definitely strikes me as a pretty kickass dungeon theme. Mix it between your classic dungeon crawl vs magitek monstrosities and chimeric carnies, and Five Nights at Freddy's (With Gonzalez, effectively immortal due to his techno phylactry (probably the time travel machines! Or, if possible, Luca.), playing the part of the animatronic horrorbot(s)) and you'd have something to work with. I'd probably say avoid an overarching CT crossover, and stick with a more focused Millennium Festival themed dungeon run -- though with Luca or the time machines as the effective macguffin, if you wanted to string it into a larger campaign it'd be pretty easy.

By the time you hear "Oh Gonzalez" come from around the corner, it's already too late. There are no silver points in the Millennium Festival of Massacre*, only death.

*Incidentally, there's your title.

I'm not quite sure, but that somehow reminds me of a fun story about a bunch of adventurers who ended up having a super-powerful Lich as a BBEG, only to find out that he was quite bored with undeath and was traveling around the world doing every extreme sport there was.  From martial arts contests to deep-sea diving, jumping off of airships, and even a few triathlons.  The party would always end up finding him in the middle of some fantastic sport and instead of outright murdering him they would jump in and try to beat him at it.

... Man I need to find a D&D group around here. >_>
