No.

But everything went back to normal again about 30 seconds ago.

I've enjoyed most of the artsy games I've played.

"Indie platformer with a postmodern story" tends to be the most boring kind though.

Which is surprising, since she is far from a trained hunter.
The thing that some people seem to forget, sometimes, is that there is no such thing as a cat that isn't a psychotic murderbeast. Even the ones that are declawed are fairly capable of killing things. Seriously, they're basically hardwired killers, one and all. They don't need training, they just need functioning lungs.

My previous cat that we adopted from the shelter was a possible stray, and she could take down a bird like nobody's business. She was fast, knew how to stalk, and brought back multiple birds from the backyard.

This cat, though, is bumbling, can't stalk stealthily, and will try to chase a bug around my room but will slam into a wall.

Our pitch-black cat will try to sneak through our mostly empty garden. Not along the side, mind you, straight through it.

There are soo many games but they are almost all terrible!
There we go. Statement made accurate. Don't think I've noticed art games being particularly prolific or notably outside the curve in regards to the junk:playable ratio. Maybe they're just easier to notice?

You have to know where to look.

MOST Artsy games are never commercial because they are games where "The Art" comes first and the gameplay only exist to emphasize the art and if it happens to be fun too it is a bonus. (Mind you a lot of them are just typical games with... art thrown in to make it seem deeper). You are pretty much dooming yourself to unpopularity when you have crud for gameplay.

Most of the ones you know of were made commercial after they gained popularity with a few notable exceptions like Braid (though I'd honestly contest its title as an artsy game)

Somehow, the best art games I've ever played were flash games.

They meant almost nothing, of course. I don't hold art games in high regard; I feel that if you want to make an allegory, you should make something like a movie or a book. Video games have come far from the coin-grabbing pointfests of the olden days, but they still rarely lend themselves to deeper meanings than your average, say, action-adventure movie might have.

I completely disagree. I can't think of any examples, but people have done some really neat stuff with games.

I have never understood art games, which I guess is odd because I like pretty much all forms of art, I just take games really seriously.

Art games are games in the sense that Andy Warhol's 8 hour video of himself sleeping is a "movie".

I'm drawn between you two, as I'd say my favorite game was a sprite based flash game called "Endeavor", solely because of how awesome the storyline was.
Visually, it wasn't art, but story wise, I think it was.

Frog Fractions. Art game and a WTF too. It's actually playable though, so might not be "arty enough"
