Care to share how to mess up Baked potatoes?  I mean maybe you can overcook them, but other then that there isn't a way.

That's not even one of the things you should have a big problem with in regards to vegetarianism. Unless you have a poor diet before and then just cut out meat without changing anything I guess.

Potato+oven/grill/whatever=deliciousness. There's really no way to fuck up baked potatoes.
Also your argument still makes no sense, since if you're vegetarian and a bad cook you can always get others to cook for you.

Baked potatoes just set your expectations for the meal so low that it's not possible to be disappointing.

Also I knew a vegetarian who wasn't a very good cook. Her boyfriend usually cooked for her, or she bought frozen meals and things.

Overcooking, undercooking, not cleaning the damned thing, leaving eyes and whatnot in, the occasional bug/worm or whathaveyou. Etc., so forth, so on. That's not even getting into potential disasters involving seasoning and such.

Baked potatoes just set your expectations for the meal so low that it's not possible to be disappointing.

If baked potato is the low bar, I guess... what, everything above it is ambrosia and manna and whatnot? Seeing as how nicely baked potato is one of the most delicious of delicious things, if it is low, only that which the gods drink must be the next step up.

Baked potatoes are merely a carrier for cheddar cheese.  They don't need to be good.  Just not horrible.

It's been a few years since I've eaten a baked potato. Adulthood has given me that freedom and it is amazing, but I admit my memory of their flavor might not be 100% accurate at this point.

Baked potatoes plain are bland as hell. Needs liberal amounts of toppings to make palatable
