My mother, who is nearing sixty years old, recently bought an iPhone. She just told me she spent the afternoon taking selfies.
Normally, she is absolutely repulsed by anything done by "young people", making this particular incident more WTF-y and less RAEG-y.

Sister hands me a 100-page TIME magazine.
"Mom says you need to read this and memorize it because she's gonna ask you questions about it later."
And thus what would have been an interesting read becomes an assignment.
The answer is fire. "What was on page 43 of the Time magazine your sister gave you?" "Fire." "What?" "I burned it. That's what you get for pulling stupid shit like this."

Hard science is like a sword, and soft science is like fear. You can use both to equally powerful results, but even if your opponent disbelieve your stabs, they will still die.

Wow. It takes some skill to lose in hand to hand combat to a roadsign.

And then if she gets mad talk about how it is a metaphor comparing the modern news media to Fahrenheit 451.  Or something along those lines.

Wow. I'm having a hard time remembering if I've ever seen a worse punch from a teen/adult. Can't argue with the results, though. :3

Holy crap, why did I not start watching One Punch Man earlier? This is the best thing.

Gotta love his expression as he winds up for it, too. :P

The reaction is better than the time I told someone straight-faced we were having dickwaffles for breakfast.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

It's 10 to midnight and so I'm waiting at the convenience store for the Tuesday specials to start so I can get cheap iced coffee. :-[
Not sure how to feel about this.

Happy.

It's a one up on the evil corporations trying to force dear iced coffee down your throat at highly inflated prices.

This way, you're taking the war to them.

You're fighting the good fight Yoink, and I'm proud of ya! :P

So apparently I missed a Rubberbandits video they put up in January. And it's kind of horrifying.
Don't know how I managed that. I blame a combination of YouTube being shitty at informing you of new videos and my own laziness in not checking other places.

I woke up today thinking my attempts to adjust my sleep schedule for overnight shift were successful.  I woke up and looked at the clock across the room.

2:05.  Awesome. I'm still pretty tired, so I nap for a little bit longer but knowing my alarm will go off in an hour keeps me from really getting any more rest.  I take a shower, brush my teeth and check off stuff on habit RPG.

2:30.  I am now very much awake, I clean up the room and organize my work notes and move my wallet out from in front of the clock...

12:35.

Wallet! I love you!  I take good care of you!  Why would you betray me so?

Yep. Their new album is going to be great and/or horrifying. Check out Fellas as well. It's got Gaberial Berne in it!

Is there a list somewhere of fictional villains who would be MUCH more successful if they went legit as opposed to doing these evil plans?

and I don't mean "because a hero stepped up and pulled the 1 in a 100 chance that brought them down" I mean they struggled every step of the way and if they just... I don't know... allowed labor unions they would succeed in moments.

I am just looking at Red Faction Guerilla where all the villain's problems, all of them, is entirely their own dang fault! If they were just a little bit less evil... they would have succeeded at their evil plans.
