For absolutely no discernible reason, DME has decided to reset to default.

And now, Empire: Total War keeps crashing nearly immediately whenever I try to launch it with DME.

I had put all the settings back as I remember it, but it just won't work.    This is both rage and WTF.

I actually learned about guardians of the galaxy a little bit before the movie was announced when I played as Rocket Raccoon in Marvel heroes.

I loved the little bugger and looked up his origins.  In hindsight I probably should have used the Groot summon more often.

Anyway haven't seen the movie yet and I'm not much of a theatre-goer.  But I'll probably watch it the moment it shows up on my pay per view list.

EDIT: Told a friend about how the potato thing is becoming part charity. Surprisingly he insists that it is a terrible thing because it shows that kickstarter does not even remotely give a crap.  If they did they would have shut down something so ridiculous in the first place. 

Also claims that although donating to charity is a good thing he has "lied" to his backers if he is using ANY of the money he gets for anything except making a 50 thousand dollar potato salad, and needs to be banned from kickstarter and maybe even people suing both the organizer and kickstarter itself.  He insists that this is why kickstarter needs to take submissions only from established businesses and no-one else.

That is my new WTF.  I suppose he always has been extremely critical of both crowd-funding and anything indie, so I suppose it shouldn't surprise me but still.  WTF.

Art projects that take 15 hours are good. It's nice to throw yourself into a project like that, and I endorse continuing to do so. It's how you develop skills.

It's practically a copy-paste of someone else's sprites that I only altered slightly. Each sprite is only 16x16 pixels, as well.

None of them were done by scratch, or even very far from how they looked originally.

Ye'll get better. Skill's as much doing things faster as it is doing things well.

But nothing on the sheet is mine. It was all just ripped off of other sheets and mashed together, with only minor alterations at most.

It's not just about quality, it's the fact that literal copy-pasting took me so long.

That's also how you get good at pixel art. Everyone starts at plain editing - for many people it's just palette swaps that they're capable of. Learning how to fit parts together is the next step, and then working on getting them to blend together, and then you start adjusting them, and then making your own, and then you make bigger parts, and then eventually you're doing entire sprites. It's a very gradual process, or at least that's my understanding.

I don't often practice much of anything, so it'll likely be a long time before I get any decent with it. Or even be able to move onto images larger than a couple of pixels.

I'm a bit hesitant to share things such as drawings with others in real life as well, since that always seems to backfire. Sometimes in ways I could never even think of. Others are fairly predictable.

I'm not that big on barbers. Last time I went to one they insisted on giving me a 'cool hairstyle, like all the other hip kids have', despite asking for a simple trim.

It did not look good, nor was it 'hip'.

My barber is pretty good. He cuts my hair well, even when I describe the desired cut as "shorter, but not too short".
