Also, I just remembered that earlier today I had a chance to use that Dirk Gently trick where, if you're lost while driving, you find a car that looks like they know where they're going and follow them (well, I wasn't really lost so much as unsure about which direction to turn), and it worked! Granted, this is a pretty poor method of navigation, but it's ever so slightly better than my usual method of navigating routes I'm unfamiliar with, which is picking a turning-off point that feels right to me, which is almost inevitably the completely wrong way to go.

Note to self: re-read Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency. I didn't like Hitchhiker's Guide to The Galaxy much, but Dirk Gently was pure genius.

I just got a recruitment call from the US Marine Corps. It was never specified beyond 'high-tech development', but I can only assume that they want me to design/build/operate drones for them.

The WTF: The person I was talking to was a recruiter that I briefly talked with at my high school a year ago. He remembered me, but I never gave him my phone number.

Table Mountain floral kingdom, yo. It's incredible, when you think about it. It also dyes all the streams in shades from urine-yellow to blood red to yucky brown.

My one cat is getting noticeably bigger, yet not fatter, as he fights with the kitten we just got.
He's noticeably gotten larger and bulkier over a period of a week or so without eating more than he does normally.

Anyway, Re: Skimpy sport outfits; just try watching the football rugby that gets televised over here if you need some evidence of gender equality being possible in sports. Two teams of big burly blokes in incredibly short underpants running into each other and more often than not ending up in compromising positions on the ground.
Give me basketball any day. I wish they televised basketball more often on Australian TV.
